Eilkoro for Development and Reconstruction works in emergency response and recovery throughout Sudan, especially in emergency hotspots. The organization is currently working to respond to the crisis in North Darfur, where the ongoing fighting has affected millions of people, particularly in the areas of Elfashir, Abu Zerega, and Zamzam. The RSF has attacked, set fire to, and looted about 67 villages in Abu Zerega, killing, injuring, and uprooting about 217,000 people, including those who fled to the bush for safety without even the most basic access to food, water, or shelter.
